Two Important Community-Wide Meetings this January, 2007

Al-Awda's San Diego, Riverside and Los Angeles/Orange County Chapters will be hosting two
important community-wide meetings this January at Al-Awda's new office in Carlsbad, San Diego (for directions, see below).

All members and supporters of our community are invited to attend.

First meeting: Sunday January 7, 2007, starting at 2 PM
Second meeting: Sunday January 21, 2007 starting at 2 PM

PURPOSE of January 7 meeting

We are pleased to report that Al-Awda's Fifth Annual International Convention will be held in San Diego. The projected date is the May 11 -13, 2007 week-end.

The Sunday 7 January meeting is called by the Convention's Host Committee. The goal of the meeting is to form several sub-committees which will be responsible for organizing various aspects of the convention.

Members and supporters of our community are cordially invited. We anticipate that individuals as well as other organizational representatives from various areas in Southern California to attend.

PURPOSE of January 21 meeting

The Sunday January 21 meeting is called by Al-Awda's West Coast Refugee Support Committee. All members and supporters of our community are invited to this urgent meeting to hear about the current situation of Palestinians in Iraq.

Our Palestinian brothers and sisters, first driven out from their own homeland by the invading Zionists in 1948, are now being forced out of Iraq, and hundreds are stranded on the borders with Syria and Jordan.

Please come listen to a presentation about this extremely difficult situation. Take part in the discussion and learn how you can help alleviate the suffering.
