What: First-Ever Palestine Awareness Day at Palomar Community College

Organized by: The Newly-Formed Muslim Student Association at the College

Where: Palomar Community College, 1140 W.Mission Rd. San Marcos, Ca 92069

When: All Day Wednesday August 30, 2006

*Teach-In at 5:30 PM organized by Al-Awda San Diego*

As part of the First-Ever Palestine Awareness Day at Palomar Community College, Al-Awda San Diego will be holding a teach-in starting at 5:30 PM at the College's Clock Square. Confirmed speakers include Al-Awda members Dr. Ahlam Muhtaseb, Mr. Samir Bazlami and Mr. Mahmoud Zubeidi.

Samir Bazlami will be speaking of his personal experience as a survivor of the Nakba (great catastrophe) of 1948. Dr. Ahlam Muhtaseb and Mahmoud Zubeidi will talk about their work in the refugee camps during their recent trip to Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.

The entire Palestine Awareness Day (including teach-in) is free and open to the public

Note: Food (free) will be served at 5 pm prior to the teach-in

The main parking lots # 1 and 2 at the college are reserved for this event. Parking is free.

Signs will be available near Palomar Community College for direction to the main entrance next the bus station.
